Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course
Course Aim
The aim of the course is introduce new members of staff or update existing staff with knowledge of First Aid in the workplace and to give the employer an Emergency First Aid at Work First Aider to comply with the First Aid at Work Regulations and the approved code of practice (ACOP) for lower risk premises.
All candidates must be able to attend 100% of the course. Reasonable agility is required and wearing of suitable clothing as candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to resuscitate a person on the floor.
Who Should Attend
Any person who is a nominated EFAW First Aider.
Content of Course
The course is predominantly practical based, and includes:-
- General Introduction
- Introduction to First Aid
- Incident Management
- Casualty Management
- Resuscitation
- Bleeding
- First Aid Kits
- The Accident Book
Assessment
The students are assessed on the basis of their performance during the day.
Successful candidates will be awarded an HSE approved certificate.
Certificate
A certificate valid for 3 years is issued on successful completion of assessment
Duration of Course
This course will contain a minimum of 6 hours of tuition.
