Fire Warden & Fire Extinguisher Training

Course Aim

The Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order (RRO) requires employers to train staff in the actions to be taken in the event of fire and basic fire awareness.
We currently provide a course for up to 10 delegates which are both structured to meet the requirements of the RRO and can also be tailored to suit individual needs.
It also gives you the opportunity to learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly, using three types of extinguishing medium.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for those who are responsible for implementing the organisations fire evacuation procedures, persons who are appointed as Fire Wardens or Deputy Fire Wardens, persons who have a direct responsibility for developing or improving existing evacuation procedures to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment  

Content of Course

The course covers the following:-

  • Greater understanding of the behaviour of fire
  • Know the actions to taken in the event of fire
  • Understand the use and identify the different types of fire extinguishers
  • Action on discovering a fire
  • Fire safety legislation
  • Common causes of fire
  • Fire safety precautions
  • Fire drills and evacuation
  • How to use fire extinguishers, including practical use by the student. 

Note – The trainer provides the extinguishers for the practical session. However, if required, the training session can make use of extinguishers at the client’s premises

Objectives

The course will present an insight into fire regulations and general fire precautions. It aims to provide you with the knowledge to be become a fire warden.

Certificates

A certificate of competence is provided for all candidates that attend the course.
