Health & Safety Services - Manufacturing Sector
General consultancy
The following services are offered in addition to those outlined
on the general consultancy services page.
Machinery Risk Assessments
The most significant risks in a manufacturing company are likely
to be associated with the use and maintenance of the machinery.
We will work closely with management and machine operators alike
to establish the health and safety risks with machines, ensure that
the appropriate safe systems of work are implemented and ensure
compliance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
(PUWER) 1998.
Machinery Training & Competence
Although many operatives may have been using workshop machinery
for many years, it is possible that they have not received any formal
training on the use of the equipment. Under health & safety
legislation it is necessary for employers to demonstrate that operatives
have the necessary competence and a certificate of competence is
the best way of demonstrating compliance. This hands on training
session is therefore more of a refresher session than a course for
new starters although it can be run as such.
Noise Assessments
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 specify that employers
must carry out an assessment of noise in the workplace where personnel
are exposed to noise levels in excess of 80 decibels over a full
working day or week. Our suitably qualified assessors are able to
carry out assessments to meet legislative requirements, and clients
will be provided with a full report and advice on practical solutions
for resolving any workplace noise issues.
